The UK Music Scene

All you need to know about the Music Industry. This course covers the development of the British music industry and focuses on the current emerging issues. brbr Learn about the structure of the industry, the differences between the major and independent labels, the roles of key players, legal issues surrounding the artist and producer and the important role of management.

The course covers the vast subject of promotions both from the artist and promoters perspective, focusing on plugging, PR and sync deals.



Whether you are an artist, producer or thinking about getting a job in the industry, this course will set you up with invaluable information that you will need in order to survive one of the most competitive and challenging industries within the UK.



Introduction to the Music Industry is taught by Melinda Lawler who is a lecturer on the Music Management Foundation Degree at Amersham and Wycombe College. She has also lectured in Popular Music Culture at Bucks University.
